My attempt at a Bonsai tree! Give it a try!!

It’s Porch Time!

Good Day!!  It’s a HOT one here in Western MA!

Yes!  It says 90 degrees!!! I’m loving these warm temperatures but maybe because I know a cold front is coming thru tonight and it will be in the low 80’s tomorrow. 70’s on the weekend!

My cat, Sienna, has found a cool and comfortable spot to hang out……..

My other cat, Matilda, is fixated on the birds at my feeders.

Now to the Bonsai that I titled this blog about.  I purchased a magazine called, Mini Gardens & Terrariums.  In it was an article and how to take a nursery tree or Bush and turn it into a Bonsai tree.  So, I tried it!!

I purchased a Alberta Source from my local Wal-Mart. It was only $7.00. I didn’t want to spend too much in case I ended up killing it after all the trimming and cutting was done….LOL!

I followed the magazine’s directions and remove it from the pot and cut off 2/3 of the root ball, loosening soil and removing dead branches

I then planted it in a shallow container, a little off center, in purchased Bonsai soil.

Then it got interesting!!! The magazine said figure out how you want your tree to look and then Follow your vision!!!  So I started to snip branches, leaves, thinking “what are you doing”???? I kept saying to myself” Follow your vision”, “Follow your vision” I even wired branches to pull them down into different positions, tying them to holes I made in the pot.   So I finished……Whew! I think it’s interesting! LOL!   I hope it grows into its shape?  I hope it lives!  For $7.00 it was fun and creative!! Here’s the finished tree! What did you think?

I’ll keep you posted on how it does thru out the Summer.  Give it a try!  Tell me how your comes out!

Till next time……..
