Unexpected Visitors at my Bird Feeder! Nice Surprise!😊

Hi, It’s Porch Time!

This afternoon I stepped out on my porch and decided I would fill my four window boxes with fresh potting soil to get them ready for new plants,…..

I also transplanted some Catnip plants into a large pot……The cats will Love this!!!     The whole time I was listening and watching all the birds!  I had all the usual suspects….chickadee’s, cardinals, mourning doves, house sparrows, starlings, assorted finches…….and then I looked over and there they were!!

A male and female Rose Breasted Grosbeaks!! I stood there in awe for a few seconds…. The male so black and white with the red throat, so handsome!!  At first I didn’t know that it was the female. I had only seen the male a couple times before but Never a female.  I ran and got my bird guide and quickly looked her up….  Luckily for me they stayed on the feeder for some time. I could hear them breaking thru the black oil sunflower seeds as they gobbled them down.  I was sad to see them fly off into the trees as a loud truck roared by.   I hope I continue to see them.  Maybe they will have a nest near by? Bring the offspring to the feeders?  🐣 Okay….I’m getting ahead of myself. One can hope! I’ll keep you updated…….

Till next time…….
